2020 has been an uneventful year so far. Most of the film releases have also been pushed forward upon the outbreak of this massive Coronavirus. It goes without saying that this unfortunate set of events has also made us hopeful towards the future. We are all eagerly waiting for the year to move forward so that we can start watching our favorite animated films in theatres again.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run was supposed to release in May 2020 but due to the unfortunate circumstances, it could not be released. This films will show us a more friendly and positive side of SpongeBob. The movie will take a different approach than the cartoon show. This is going to be more of an origin story with smaller plots. Nevertheless, the film is going to be filled with excitement, fun and a lot of popcorn time.

Connected
Connected is an upcoming American computer-animated science fiction comedy film produced by Sony Pictures Animation. The trailer was released in March 2020 and the release has been officially announced for October of this year.
However, Sony has released multiple statements saying that they will only allow the film to hit theaters if the situation normalizes and the government regulations allow it. It is a fun film about family and togetherness where technology takes over their quality family time. The technology uprising is a clever concept and is drawing a lot of attention from the people.
This concept has been getting a lot of praise from animators and aspiring students at animation institutes as well.
